The Watersmeet Volunteer Fire Department consists of 16 fire department responders, including 7 licensed EMS personnel. In addition to fire service, they are trained responders for gas/carbon monoxide leaks, snowmobile, watercraft, ATV and ice/water rescue.
The fire department has a fleet of equipment to service the Watersmeet area:

- Medical Rescue Truck
-LUCAS Device/Oxygen Tanks/Back Board/Cardio Monitor/Epinephrine - Lake Pumps for filling fire trucks
- Snowmobiles (2)

- Rescue sled for UTV and snowmobile
- Rescue Boat
- Jaws of Life (Certified)
