Winter Storm Watch: Saturday Night to Monday Night ~ Stay Home/Stay Safe!
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Watersmeet area from late Saturday night through Monday evening.
Forecasts indicate the potential for 12–24 inches or more of snow, wind gusts up to 40 mph, and dangerously cold wind chills. Heavy snowfall combined with strong winds may create blowing and drifting snow, very low visibility, and near-whiteout conditions. Travel may become very difficult to impossible at times.
Residents are strongly urged to remain at home during the storm unless travel is absolutely necessary. Road conditions may deteriorate rapidly, and emergency response may be delayed during periods of severe weather.
Residents should take time now to prepare for the storm, including ensuring adequate food, medications, and essential supplies, and planning for the possibility of power outages.
Local officials will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as necessary. Please stay home and stay safe.
